we are a manufacturer of spectrometry equipment. What we ordered
at Allied is the mere housing of our spectrometers, we used to buy
these at Farnell while they used to carry them.

I don't know whether this makes us the ultimate consignee, I guess
it does.

We have never had any customers for our spectrometers outside the
EU, and we don't plan to in the foreseeable future, if this is relevant.
(Except in the US, we do plan to sell our spectrometers there soon).

Two or three weeks ago we bought a much larger amount of parts,
those which _are_ indeed sophisticated and hard if at all possible
to be replaced at Digikey, which are also a US company. There was
no problem whatsoever (a friendly company here is Sofia did that
for us this time but we have done it ourselves before).

Pretty amazing, that Export Review Department you have. :-)

And here the nasty part - these frauds charged me $383.25
for a small package which would normally cost well
below $100.

Beware - these people are absolute frauds. They rip you off
with the "freight cost" at the blink of an eye.
